Kalam Nawaem on MBC

MBC is one of the Middle East’s largest media networks, reaching audiences across the Arab world. Kalam Nawaem, its long-running flagship women’s talk show, has historically been described as reaching tens of millions of viewers, with some reports citing a potential audience of up to 200 million across the region. I was invited as a guest alongside high-profile guests like Elham Ali and Abdulmohsen Alnemr in the same episode to discuss my invention and my journey and influence as a young female inventor in Saudi Arabia, highlighting youth innovation and the growing presence of Saudi women in science and technology. Kholoud appeared more than 3 times on different MBC shows.

Saudi TV (Al Saudiya) — National Television Interview-

Impact: Saudi Arabia’s official national television channel, broadcasting since 1965. By 1975, it was already reaching approximately 1.5 million viewers, establishing it as one of the Kingdom’s most influential national media platforms.

Invited to Saudi TV during King Salman’s accession anniversary to discuss my achievements as a young Saudi female inventor, my invention, and receiving the Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Award for Arabian Gulf Youth.

Impact: Sky News Arabia is a major 24-hour Arabic news network serving audiences across the Middle East and North Africa

Appearance: Featured on Sky News Arabia’s Al Sabah program in a segment titled “Kholoud Al-Abbasi… Saudi Woman Who Won International Awards in Innovation.” The interview discussed how I began inventing at age 14, becoming the youngest Saudi female inventor to receive international awards and patents, as well as my inventions, international recognition, and journey in innovation.

Rotana Khaleejiah — Sayidaty

Impact: Rotana Khaleejiah is one of Saudi Arabia’s leading entertainment channels and a major platform for Saudi and Gulf audiences. Ipsos ratings reported more than 4.6 million unique viewers per day and a 27% daily reach during Ramadan 2024. Its digital footprint is also substantial: as of September 2026, its YouTube channel has approximately 14 million subscribers and 7.7+ billion lifetime views.

Impact: Sayidaty is one of the Arab world’s best-known women’s magazines, with longstanding print and digital reach across Saudi Arabia, the Gulf, and the wider Middle East.

Feature: Kholoud Al-Abbasi was selected as “Person of the Week” in a full-page Sayidaty feature highlighting her achievements as a young Saudi inventor. The article covered her award-winning inventions, international recognition—including awards in Geneva, ITEX Malaysia, and South Korea—and receiving the Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Award for Excellence and Creativity. It also featured her ambitions to advance environmentally focused transportation technologies and her call for greater support for young inventors.

Impact: First1Saudi (أول سعودي/ـة) is a Saudi digital media platform focused on highlighting Saudi pioneers, firsts, innovators, and notable achievements, sharing their stories with a Saudi social-media audience.

Feature: Kholoud Al-Abbasi was featured as a 15-year-old Saudi inventor following her win of the Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Award for Arab Youth.
